What Does Lyophilised Peptide Mean?

Researchers sometimes expect every vial of lyophilised peptide to contain an identical-looking solid cake.

In practice, appearance can vary.

Depending upon the peptide, manufacturing process, excipients and lyophilisation conditions, the material might appear as:

  • Fluffy white material

Appearance alone therefore shouldn't be used to determine peptide purity.

Analytical testing is considerably more informative.
